Wicks Linux

This is the year that I decided that I needed to learn about linux. I did a quick search on linux. The results were a bit overwhelming. Just on search on linux in Google returned 269,000,000 hits and a search on linux distro returned 2,600,000 hits. I asked around at work to find out who the linux power users where and which distro's people where using. I decided to try installing Mandriva 10.1.

The install went well the first time. All of my hardware was detected and set up correctly. I then decided to install a second hard drive into the machine. This is where I started running into problems. For some reason the hard drive conflicted with the DVD-Rom, the NIC card and the loopback. Once I finally removed the second hard drive all my problems went away. I now finally have Mandriva installed and running. So far I am impressed.

Mandrakelinux changes it name to Mandriva Linux.
